Eric Chelle banks on blend of experience and new faces for Unity Cup title defence
Head coach Eric Chelle has unveiled a strong Super Eagles squad for the 2026 Unity Cup, with the focus firmly on defending Nigeria’s title in the four-nation mini tournament in London.
Nigeria will face Zimbabwe in the semi-final at Charlton Athletic Stadium, The Valley, on May 26, with a place in the final at stake against either Jamaica or India.
Chelle’s selection reflects a balance of established internationals, exciting new talents and standout home-based performers as the Super Eagles prepare for another shot at regional bragging rights.
Captain Wilfred Ndidi leads the squad alongside experienced names like Francis Uzoho, Moses Simon and Terem Moffi, while first-time call ups Arthur Okonkwo, Emmanuel Fernandez, Tochukwu Nnadi, Ebenezer Akinsanmiro and Rafiu Durosinmi add fresh energy to the team.
The squad also rewards several Nigeria Premier Football League stars, highlighting Chelle’s willingness to integrate domestic talents into the national team setup ahead of a busy international calendar.
