Newly appointed Executive Chairman of the Federal Character Commission (FCC), Ayo Hulayat Omidiran, has expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for nominating her to lead the commission.

Omidiran, a two-time House of Representatives member and celebrated football administrator, also thanked former Osun State Governor and Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, for his recommendation, and former Osun State First Lady, Kafayat Oyetola, “for staying true to sisterhood.”

In a brief statement on Monday, Omidiran, an APC Chieftain and SWAGA leader shared her first reactions to acknowledge her nomination.

“Grateful for the nomination, Mr President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, For the recommendation, H.E Adegboyega Oyetola, For staying true to sisterhood, H.E Kafayat Oyetola, And to God, the Almighty, for everything. Alhamdulillah Robbi li alameen.”

Omidiran, a former FIFA Women’s Committee member, NFF board member, and founder of the pioneering Omidiran Babes women’s football club, is widely regarded as one of the most influential figures in Nigerian women’s football.

She replaces Dr. Muheeba Dankaka as FCC chairman.
