40th YSFON Ramat Cup: Host Nasarawa thrash Plateau in Group stage thriller

 

 

The 40th edition of the Youth Sports Federation of Nigeria (YSFON) Ramat Cup lit up Lafia on Sunday as host state Nasarawa delivered a stunning 5–1 win over Plateau State in a thrilling group stage encounter.

 

Playing in front of a jubilant home crowd, Nasarawa showcased attacking football at its finest, keeping fans on their feet from start to finish. The emphatic victory boosts the hosts’ chances of reaching the knockout stage while sending a clear warning to other contenders.

Kwara State 2–0 Sokoto State – A disciplined display secured all three points for Kwara.

 

Gombe State 3–0 FCT – A commanding performance earned Gombe a comfortable win.

 

Bauchi State 2–0 Kebbi State – Bauchi maintained control to claim maximum points.

 

The YSFON Ramat Cup—held in honour of the late Head of State, General Murtala Ramat Mohammed—brings together U16 boys’ teams from across Nigeria, providing a platform for emerging football talents to shine and catch the attention of national youth team selectors.
