Isaac Danladi delighted with Sportsville Awards nomination
The Attorney General of Nasarawa State and former chairman of Nasarawa United F.C., Isaac Danladi, has expressed delight following his nomination for the Sportsville Special Recognition Award, describing it as a reward for his contributions to sports development in Nigeria.
Danladi, who spoke to journalists on Wednesday morning at the premises of the Federal High Court of Nigeria in Lafia, said the recognition is one he will cherish throughout his active involvement in sports administration.
“First of all, let me thank God for using the organisers to honour me. I am also grateful to the Executive Governor of Nasarawa State, Engineer Abdullahi Sule, for providing me the platform to serve the state and contribute to sports development, especially in football,” Danladi said.
The legal practitioner, who previously served for several years as chairman of the NPFL Club Owners Association, added that the nomination had deep personal significance.
“On an emotional note, the nomination for this award has made me recognise that when you work conscientiously from your little corner, there are people who take note and at the appropriate time they reward you for your efforts,” he said.
Danladi dedicated the honour to Governor Sule and the people of Nasarawa State.
“It is not just an honour to me as a person but also an honour to the state I come from, Nasarawa State,” he added.
Sources close to the football administrator revealed that he is expected to attend the ceremony alongside members of the state executive council and other sports stakeholders.
The Sportsville Special Recognition Award ceremony will take place on March 28 at the Lagos Country Club in Ikeja GRA from 6pm. The event marks the sixth edition of the awards, which were instituted in 2020 to celebrate two decades of uninterrupted television and radio broadcasting by Sportsville.
