Kano Governor Urges Residents to Support Tinubu Ahead of 2027 Elections

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State has called on residents of the state to continue supporting President Bola Tinubu, describing him as a leader committed to the development of Kano and the progress of Nigeria.

The governor made the appeal while presenting the Certificate of Return to the newly elected member representing Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency, Shu'aibu Rabi'u Nagogo, in Kano.

In a statement issued on Wednesday by his spokesperson, Sunusi Dawakin-Tofa, Yusuf said the people of Kano had every reason to stand firmly behind the President as the country moves toward the 2027 general elections.

According to the governor, the cordial relationship between the Kano State Government and the Federal Government has produced tangible benefits for the state, particularly in the area of infrastructure development and other critical projects.

He commended President Tinubu for his support towards initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of Kano residents and accelerating development across the state.

Yusuf further described the President as a leader dedicated to promoting national unity, stability and progress, urging political leaders and stakeholders to maintain cooperation and strengthen the partnership between Kano State and the Federal Government.

The governor stressed that sustained collaboration between both levels of government would help deliver more developmental projects and improve the living conditions of citizens.

He also congratulated Nagogo on his electoral victory, expressing confidence that the lawmaker would provide quality representation for the people of Dawakin Kudu and Warawa Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.

Yusuf reaffirmed his administration's commitment to working closely with the Federal Government to implement policies and programmes designed to improve the socio-economic well-being of Nigerians.

The governor's remarks come amid increasing political consultations and alignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, with political leaders across the country positioning themselves for the next electoral cycle.
