Nigeria striker Victor Osimhen has expressed confidence that Galatasaray will return stronger next season, insisting the Turkish champions remain the best team in the country and are capable of making a deeper run in the UEFA Champions League.

The Nigerian forward enjoyed another exceptional campaign following his permanent transfer from Napoli in the summer of 2025, further cementing his status as one of the most influential players in Turkish football.

Osimhen played a key role in Galatasaray's domestic and European successes, helping the Istanbul giants retain the Turkish Super Lig title while also making a significant impact in the UEFA Champions League.

The 27-year-old contributed seven goals and three assists in ten Champions League appearances as Galatasaray reached the Round of 16 before their journey was ended by Premier League side Liverpool.

Despite the disappointment of the European exit, Osimhen remains convinced that the experience will make the team stronger and better prepared for future challenges.

Speaking in comments relayed by Turkish outlet Fanatik, the Nigerian international highlighted Galatasaray's contribution to raising the profile of Turkish football on the global stage.

"We have been promoting the Turkish League to the world for years. We are making both the country and the league noticeable," Osimhen said.

"Next season we will be even better and represent Galatasaray even better. We are the best. We have said this many times."

The former Lille and Napoli striker stressed that the squad's ambition remains unchanged as they look to build on their recent achievements and compete more effectively against Europe's elite clubs.

"And we will come back with the same hunger next season," he added.

Osimhen also reserved special praise for Galatasaray's passionate supporters, describing the atmosphere at the club's home ground as unmatched in world football.

"I miss my team and my fans very much. The best atmosphere in the world is in our stadium. You can come and see it. Everyone says so."

Since arriving in Istanbul, Osimhen has become a fan favourite thanks to his goals, work rate and leadership qualities. His contributions were instrumental in Galatasaray's successful defence of the Super Lig title amid fierce competition from arch-rivals Fenerbahçe.

With another domestic crown secured and valuable Champions League experience gained, Osimhen believes Galatasaray are well positioned to take the next step on the European stage when the new season begins.
