Kelechi Iheanacho's comeback strike keeps Celtic in title hunt

Kelechi Iheanacho marked his return from an injury hit spell in style, coming off the bench to fire Celtic F.C. to a crucial 2–1 victory over Dundee United F.C. and reignite their Scottish Premier League title push.

The Nigerian striker, who had not found the net since early October, delivered the decisive moment on Sunday, underlining both his resilience and importance to Celtic’s campaign as they chase down rivals Heart of Midlothian F.C. and Rangers F.C..

Speaking after the match, Iheanacho expressed both relief and joy at making a telling contribution.

“It feels good to help the team to get the win,” he told Celtic TV

“We really showed character and we really worked hard to get the win.

“I think, especially in the first half, we blew them away and had a few chances, but unfortunately it didn’t click.

“In the second half they came back and scored the penalty, but at the end we got the points which is massive.”

Celtic’s victory keeps them firmly in the title conversation. After 32 matches, they sit third with 64 points just three behind leaders Hearts setting up a tense run-in as the race for the crown intensifies.
