Moses Aduku named squad for FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup Qualifiers against Senegal
Nigeria’s U-20 women’s national team, the Falconets, have stepped up preparations for their FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup qualifying clash against Senegal, with head coach Moses Aduku unveiling a 27-player squad for the two-legged tie.
The list, released by the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), features Bayelsa Queens forward Janet Akekoromowei, Nasarawa Amazons midfielder Joy Igbokwe, and several standout performers from the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL). Also included is Shakirat Abidemi Moshood, one of a number of players promoted from the national U-17 setup.
Nigeria will host the first leg at the MKO Abiola Sports Complex in Abeokuta on Saturday, 7 February, with kick-off scheduled for 4:00 p.m. The reverse fixture will take place a week later, on Saturday, 14 February, at the Stade Lat-Dior in Thiès, Senegal.
The Falconets arrived in Abeokuta on Tuesday morning after relocating from Ibadan, where the match was initially billed to hold. As part of their build-up, Aduku’s side recorded a 2–1 friendly win over NWFL side Robo Queens.
The winner of the Nigeria–Senegal encounter will progress to the final round of African qualifying, where they will face the winner of the tie between Guinea-Bissau and Malawi for one of Africa’s four slots at the 2026 FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup in Poland.
