Team Nigeria capped off its athletics campaign at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow with a bronze medal in the mixed 4x400m relay.

The quartet of Ezekiel Nathaniel, Patience Okon-George, Samuel Ogazi, and Ella Onojuvwevwo delivered a season's best performance of 3:12.85 to secure third place in the final athletics event for Nigeria at the Games.

Nigeria finished behind a formidable Jamaican team, anchored by Dejanea Oakley, who produced a sensational 48.67-second split on the final leg, while England claimed the silver medal.

The bronze medal provided a fitting conclusion to Team Nigeria's athletics campaign, with the relay team producing one of its best performances of the season on the Commonwealth stage.
