President Tinubu Confirms Rescue of Kwara Worshippers, 51 Kidnapped Students in Niger

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced the successful rescue of all 38 worshippers abducted in Eruku, Kwara State, following sustained security operations by Nigeria’s security agencies.

The President also revealed that 51 of the kidnapped students from a Catholic school in Niger State have been safely recovered, noting that efforts remain ongoing to secure the release of others still in captivity.

Tinubu disclosed that he cancelled his trip to the G20 Summit in South Africa to personally oversee and coordinate national security efforts, describing the recent successes as a product of intensified operations and strategic response from security forces. Reaffirming his commitment to safeguarding lives and property, the President said he is closely monitoring the security situation nationwide and receiving constant updates from frontline commanders.

 He stressed that every Nigerian has the right to safety and assured that his administration will remain resolute in restoring peace and stability across the country.
