Soccer Queens Awards 2026: Adegbuyi, Doosuur, Uwah, others emerge winners

 

Footballers and coaches across the three divisions of the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL) were honoured at the 2026 Soccer Queens Awards held at Lagos Anglican Girls' Grammar School on Saturday, October 10.

The awards recognised outstanding performances and contributions to women's football across the NWFL Premiership, Championship and Nationwide divisions, celebrating players, coaches and other football personalities for their achievements during the season.

In the NWFL Premiership category, FC Robo Queens' Kemi Adegbuyi won the Queen's Crown Award, while Edo Queens forward Atume Doosuur received the Royal Finisher Award.

Abasiofon Uwah of Rivers Angels was also listed among the recipients of the Royal Finisher Award.

Nasarawa Amazons' Udoka Racheal Unachukwu claimed the Queen's Fortress Award, while Esther Chioma Moses of Edo Queens won the Royal Conductor Award.

Edo Queens continued their strong representation among the winners, with Valentina Uroko receiving the Queen's Shield Award and head coach Moses Aduku taking home the Royal Strategist Award.

Championship Division Recognises Emerging Talent

In the NWFL Championship category, Imo Striker Queens' Mmesoma Amaechi won the Rising Crown Award, while Favour Enodunwenben of Fortress Ladies and Egodi Okonkwo of Rosaria Victrix were named recipients of the Apex Finisher Award.

Oparanyanwu Desmond Favour of Imo Strikers received the Iron Gate Award, while Nelly Orisakwe of Imo Striker Queens won the Promotion Master Award.

The awards highlighted the contributions of players and coaches competing in the second tier of Nigerian women's football, where clubs continue to pursue development and promotion ambitions.

 

Nationwide Division Celebrates Grassroots Excellence

The Nationwide division also produced a list of award recipients, reflecting the importance of grassroots football in nurturing future stars of the women's game.

Charis Ogolo of C2E Sports Academy won the Future Crown Award, while teammate Agnes Ohuche received the Goal Throne Award.

Moses Mimido Stephanie of Spunky Blazers claimed the Guardian Crown Award, while John Chukwu Yau of C2E Sports Academy was honoured with the Builder's Crown Award.

 

Celebrating Excellence in Women's Football

The Soccer Queens Awards 2026 provided a platform to recognise achievements across all three NWFL divisions, highlighting the talent, dedication and contributions of individuals working to advance women's football in Nigeria.

By celebrating players, coaches and other contributors at different levels of the league structure, the initiative aims to inspire emerging talents and encourage continued investment in the women's game.

Held under the theme “More Than a Game — A Brighter Tomorrow,” the awards reaffirmed the importance of recognising excellence and creating opportunities for the next generation of female footballers.
