Soccer Queens Awards commends Modupe Shabi, NWFL staff for successful 2025/26 season
The Soccer Queens Awards team has commended the Chief Operating Officer of the Nigeria Women’s Football League (NWFL), Modupe Shabi, and her staff for their dedication and contributions to the successful conduct of the 2025/26 league season.
The team noted that the success of the Soccer Queens Awards 2026 was built on the performances of players and the contributions of football personalities across the NWFL Premiership, Championship and Nationwide divisions.
According to the organisers, recognising outstanding players requires a functional league structure, regular competitions and committed administrators who provide the platform for talent to thrive.
“Without a competent league administration and dedicated staff, there cannot be a good league. The players we celebrate at the Soccer Queens Awards are products of the competitions organised and managed by the NWFL,” the team stated.
The Soccer Queens Awards team acknowledged the efforts of Shabi and her staff in coordinating league activities and creating opportunities for clubs and players to compete, develop their abilities and showcase their talents throughout the season.
The organisers also highlighted their monitoring of regular Premiership matches, the Super Six, Championship and Nationwide competitions, noting that match observations and player statistics gathered during the season helped form the basis for selecting the award recipients.
The recognition of outstanding performers across the three divisions further underlines the importance of a strong league structure in promoting talent development and celebrating excellence at every level of women's football in Nigeria.
The team expressed its appreciation to Shabi and the entire NWFL staff, urging them to sustain their commitment to strengthening the league and advancing the development of women's football in the country.
The Soccer Queens Awards 2026 continues to champion the recognition of outstanding performances, celebrate contributions to the women's game and inspire the next generation of female footballers.
