South-West FA Chairmen endorse NFF President Gusau for second term
Chairmen of the Football Associations across Nigeria's six South-West states have unanimously endorsed the President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau, MON (Kigon Gusau), for a second term in office ahead of the forthcoming NFF presidential election.
The endorsement was reached during a strategic meeting of the South-West FA Chairmen Forum, attended by all the state FA Chairmen in the zone and the Second Vice President of the NFF, Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye. During the meeting, members reviewed the progress of football administration in Nigeria and assessed the achievements recorded under the current NFF leadership.
In a communiqué signed by the Chairman of the South-West Football Association Chairmen Forum, Alhaji Ganiyu Majekodunmi, the forum described Gusau's leadership as visionary, purposeful, and deserving of continuity.
According to the communiqué, the FA Chairmen agreed that since assuming office, Gusau has demonstrated a strong commitment to strengthening football administration while laying a solid foundation for sustainable development across all levels of the game.
Among the key achievements highlighted by the forum was the administration's commitment to football infrastructure development. The Chairmen commended Gusau's advocacy for improved sporting facilities, noting that it has encouraged several state governments to invest in the construction and rehabilitation of stadiums across the country.
The forum also applauded the NFF President's prudent management of the federation's finances, stating that despite prevailing economic challenges and limited funding, the administration has maintained financial transparency, improved accountability, and ensured the effective management of available resources.
The South-West FA Chairmen expressed confidence that a second term for Alhaji Ibrahim Musa Gusau would consolidate the progress already made and further accelerate the growth and development of football across Nigeria.
