Victor Osimhen snubs European giants, commits future to Galatasaray

Victor Osimhen has poured cold water on mounting transfer speculation by reaffirming his commitment to Galatasaray SK, despite strong interest from European powerhouses.

The Super Eagles striker, who has been heavily linked with moves to FC Barcelona and Real Madrid CF and Arsenal, made it clear that he has no immediate plans to leave Istanbul, citing a deep sense of belonging at his current club.

Osimhen, one of Europe’s most sought-after forwards, has been in sensational form, registering 57 goals and 15 assists in just 72 appearances for Galatasaray.

His consistency and impact have attracted top-tier attention, but the 27 year old insists his focus remains unchanged.

“I think I’ve found a home here where I am comfortable.

This club is family. It’s love, unity, and utmost respect,” he said, emphasizing that his happiness extends beyond football, with his family equally settled in the city.

His declaration comes amid reports that scouts from both Barcelona and Real Madrid closely monitored his performance during Galatasaray’s heated derby clash with Fenerbahçe SK. However, Osimhen’s firm stance now casts doubt over any imminent transfer pursuit.

Beyond his personal attachment, financial realities also complicate any potential deal. Galatasaray are reportedly holding out for a nine figure transfer fee, while Osimhen’s estimated €21 million annual salary making him the highest-paid player in Turkish football adds another significant barrier for suitors.

Having quickly become a fan favourite, Osimhen’s latest comments signal that prising him away from Galatasaray will be no easy task, with both emotional ties and financial demands firmly anchoring him in Istanbul.
