Zenith Women's Basketball League: MFM, First Bank lead as Final Eight emerge

MFM and First Bank basketball clubs headline the list of eight teams that have sealed qualification for the final playoffs of the Zenith Bank Women’s Premier League, after the conclusion of the second phase in Ilorin, Kwara State.

This year’s competition tipped off with the first phase split across two cities, the Atlantic Conference in Benin City, Edo State, and the Savannah Conference in Abuja.

In Ilorin, the battle for playoff spots intensified, with The Titans, Air Warriors, Royal Aces, Nigeria Customs, First Bank, MFM, Dolphins, and Bayelsa Whales all booking their tickets to the Final Eight, which will take place later this month at the National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.

Chairperson of the NBBF Zenith Women’s League, Perpetua Clement, lauded the high standard of play witnessed in the second phase and extended her gratitude to the league’s sponsors.

“I would like to commend the NBBF for the outstanding job we are all doing to organise the Women’s Basketball Premier League,” she said. “Special appreciation also goes to Zenith Bank Plc for their support. The sponsorship has been instrumental in elevating the league, providing a platform for these talented women to shine".
