Nigerian forward Ademola Lookman delivered a masterclass performance as Atlético Madrid dismantled FC Barcelona 4-0 in the first leg of their Copa del Rey semi final clash.

The hosts wasted no time asserting dominance, racing into the lead in the seventh minute after Barcelona goalkeeper Joan Garcia fumbled under pressure, resulting in an unfortunate own goal. 

Atlético doubled their advantage just 14 minutes into the contest when Antoine Griezmann finished off a slick attacking move to leave the visitors stunned.

By the 33rd minute, Atlético’s relentless pressure paid off again. Julian Alvarez slipped a well weighted pass into Lookman’s path, and the Nigerian international kept his composure to fire home the third goal. It was a display of sharp positioning and calm finishing that underlined his growing influence on the big stage.

Lookman was not finished. In first half stoppage time, he turned creator, delivering a precise assist that allowed Álvarez to grab his second of the night and Atlético’s fourth. 

His pace, intelligent movement, and clinical decision making repeatedly exposed Barcelona’s defensive frailties, marking him as one of the standout performers of the encounter.
