Chiamaka Nnadozie claims third straight CAF Women's goalkeeper of the year crown

Super Falcons shot-stopper Chiamaka Nnadozie has been named the 2025 CAF Women’s Goalkeeper of the Year, securing the prestigious honour for the third consecutive time at the CAF Awards in Rabat, Morocco.

The 25-year-old has now swept the award every year since its introduction in 2023, cementing her status as Africa’s undisputed number one.

Nnadozie’s latest triumph caps a standout year for both club and country. She was instrumental in Nigeria’s return to the WAFCON summit in Rabat, recording four clean sheets in six matches and claiming the Golden Glove as the tournament’s best goalkeeper.

Her excellence extended to club football. Nnadozie delivered one of the standout performances of the French season, helping Paris FC stun Paris Saint-Germain Féminine in the Coupe de France Féminine final, keeping a clean sheet and saving two penalties during the shootout. She also guided Paris FC to the French league playoffs, showcasing her consistency and leadership across the campaign.

In addition to her CAF dominance, Nnadozie finished fourth in the 2025 Women’s Yachine Trophy at the Ballon d’Or and is currently shortlisted for The Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper award.

Her CAF hat-trick places her among a select group of Nigerian players to win a continental award three years in a row, further strengthening the country’s legacy in women’s football.

Meanwhile, Morocco pulled off their own historic double at the ceremony. Achraf Hakimi and Ghizlane Chebbak were crowned the 2025 CAF Men’s and Women’s Players of the Year, mirroring Nigeria’s famous sweep in 2023 by Victor Osimhen and Asisat Oshoala.

Hakimi’s dominant season with Paris Saint-Germain, where he lifted five trophies, and his consistency with the Atlas Lions earned him the men’s honour. Chebbak, Morocco’s captain, claimed the women’s award after leading her nation to back-to-back WAFCON finals and finishing as the tournament’s top scorer.
