Delta Queens appoint Stanley Osazee Francis as head coach
Delta Queens FC have announced the appointment of Stanley Osazee Francis as their new head coach, as the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) Premiership prepares to resume after the mid-season break.
The Asaba-based club confirmed the decision in an official statement, handing the reins to Osazee, a highly qualified and experienced coach with a strong pedigree in Nigerian football. He holds a CAF C Licence, an NPFL/LaLiga Advanced Coaching Licence and Coaching Diploma, as well as additional certifications from the Nigeria Institute of Sports (NIS). Osazee is also trained in Sports Management and is accredited by the Certified Football Coaches Association of African Nations (FCAAN-F).
Osazee brings with him a wealth of experience from both the women’s and men’s game. In women’s football, he has previously managed Novia Queens FC, Fortress Queens FC, Edo Queens FC, and Imo United FC, earning a reputation for discipline, tactical organisation, and player development. He has also worked with men’s sides St Paul FC and Nigeria Premier Football League outfit Bendel Insurance FC.
His coaching résumé is decorated with notable achievements, including two Edo FA Cup titles, two NWFL Super Six appearances with Edo Queens, an NNL Championship, and a Federation Cup title. Osazee has also led teams on the continental stage, featuring in the CAF Confederation Cup, and guided Bendel Insurance to the NPFL Super Six.
Meanwhile, Maureen Ajibose Eke, who had been appointed head coach following the departure of Samson Keshi, has reverted to her former position as Assistant Coach.
Delta Queens will be hoping Osazee’s arrival signals a return to their best days. With his winning mentality and vast experience, the club believes he can introduce fresh ideas, nurture young talent, and reposition the team as a strong force in Nigerian women’s football, with an eye on both domestic success and future continental ambitions.
