Dolphins, First Bank, MFM, Royal Aces set for semi-final clashes in Women's Basketball League
The semifinal cast is complete at the Zenith Bank Women’s Basketball Premier League Final 8 in Lagos, with Dolphins, First Bank, MFM, and Royal Aces booking their places in the last four.
Dolphins powered into the semis with a flawless group stage record, dismantling Nigeria Customs 81–45. Ajani Amudalat led the charge with 20 points, while Tewo Mololuwa added 11 as the Lagos side stayed unbeaten.
Defending champions, MFM also secured their spot from Group A, bouncing back strongly after an opening-day loss. They brushed aside Titans 57–32, thanks to Isaac Abigail’s 20-point, 10-rebound double-double, and Wandoo Marvis Hembam’s 19 points with four steals.
In Group B, First Bank lived up to their billing, thrashing Air Warriors 66–35 to maintain their perfect run. Marylyn Ogoigbe stood out with 16 points and seven rebounds, while Onaibe Jessica added 13 points, six rebounds, and four assists for the elephant girls.
Royal Aces claimed the final ticket in dramatic fashion, edging Bayelsa Blue Whales 40–37. Bidemi Ogedengbe was the hero, dominating the paint with 14 points and a massive 20 rebounds to drag her side across the line.
