Friends, allies contribute over one billion Naira to Senator Yayi's 2027 Ogun Governorship campaign

Supporters of Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi (APC, Ogun West), have donated more than N1 billion to back his political ambition ahead of the 2027 Ogun State governorship election.

The contributions were channeled through the “Friends of Yayi Support Initiative,” according to records obtained by The Eagle Online. Donors included politicians, businessmen, monarchs, and community leaders.

While the official tally stood at N967.4 million as of April 29, 2026, The Eagle Online gathered that additional donations from key supporters had pushed total contributions past the N1 billion mark, making it one of the largest political fundraising efforts for the upcoming governorship contest.

Among the most notable donors was Hon. Kayode Jelili Amusan, an APC aspirant who stepped down for Yayi, contributing N25 million in a demonstration of loyalty and political alignment.

Several political figures further strengthened the campaign, such as Hon. Jagunmolu Akande Omoniyi (N25 million), Pastor Tunde Osho and associates (N25 million), and others including Hon. Jubril Adewale, Ajibola Fatgbems, Otunba Olumide Osunshina, Hon. Bolayo Oloyede Oyesile, Rt. Hon.
