Osun 2026: Primate Ayodele Predicts Adeleke’s Victory, Warns APC May Try to Snatch Mandate
The Leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has predicted that Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke will secure a second term in office but warned that the victory could face challenges after the election.
In a statement issued on Sunday by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric claimed that Adeleke is destined to win the 2026 governorship election but alleged that the All Progressives Congress (APC) would attempt to overturn the outcome.
Primate Ayodele, who has consistently expressed confidence in Adeleke’s re-election prospects, urged the governor to remain vigilant throughout the electoral process and beyond.
“In the Osun election, God has already anointed Ademola Adeleke to secure a second term in office,” he said.
“He will win the election, but the APC is working towards the aftermath of the win. They will attempt to snatch victory from Adeleke if he isn’t careful enough.”
The cleric further advised the governor to closely monitor developments before, during and after the poll, claiming there were plans to pursue victory through means beyond the ballot box.
“The governor must follow them closely and ensure he has eyes on the ground because they have already concluded their plans to go beyond the election polls to get victory by all means. Adeleke must stay with his win till the very end,” he added.
Primate Ayodele also directed remarks at the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), cautioning against any alleged compromise in the conduct of the election.
According to him, electoral officials should allow the democratic process to proceed without interference.
“If the election is rigged, the INEC chairman will be made to suffer for it and those who pushed him into it will not stand by him,” he said.
“It’s better he allows things to go the way they should to avoid any issues after the election. He shouldn’t allow himself to be used by politicians in the state.”
The comments come ahead of preparations for the 2026 Osun State governorship election, which is expected to feature another keen contest for leadership of the state. Primate Ayodele’s statements reflect his personal predictions and allegations, which have not been substantiated with evidence or independently verified.
