Kate Otiti Esugo (Delta) has won the gold medal in the women's 10M Air Rifle Shooting event at the 2024 National Sports Festival.

She emerged with the best score to win the individual event and set a new National Record in the women's 10m Rifle event.

Esugo scored a total of 211.0 points to take the gold medal, while Zinna Aitsle (Rivers) scored 210.6 points to win the Silver medal.

Fatima Emmanuel finished on the podium for Ogun state, scoring 186.0 points to win the Bronze medal.

Kate's husband, Okposo, also represented Delta State in the shooting event of the 2024 National Sports Festival.

Okposo has been representing Nigeria since the Melbourne 2006 Commonwealth Games. He is currently Nigeria's number-one shooter.

The couple won gold (Kate) and silver (Okposo) medals, respectively, in their events.

The husband unfortunately suffered an upset in his event, settling for a silver medal at the Gateway Games against Taiwo Ogunbawo from host, Ogun State.
