Head Coach Éric Chelle has unveiled a 24-man roster for Nigeria’s upcoming 2027 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying double-header against Tanzania’s Taifa Stars later this month.

Team captain Wilfred Ndidi leads a strong core that includes defenders Calvin Bassey and Semi Ajayi, midfielders Alex Iwobi and Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, alongside key forwards Moses Simon, Ademola Lookman, and Akor Adams.

The squad also features goalkeepers Stanley Nwabali and Arthur Okonkwo, defenders Olaoluwa Aina and Benjamin Fredricks, midfielders Tochukwu Nnadi and Samson Tijani, as well as attackers Moses Usor and Taiwo Awoniyi. Turkey-based defender Chibuike Nwaiwu and Czechia-based wing-back Abdullahi Bewene have earned call-ups to complete the selection.

The Super Eagles will host the tournament co-hosts, Tanzania, at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Friday, November 13th. They will then travel to Zanzibar to face the Taifa Stars in the reverse fixture at the Amman Stadium on Tuesday, November 17th.

Currently sitting second in Group L, Nigeria must secure victories in both matches to boost their chances of claiming the lone qualification spot in the pool for next summer’s showpiece event in Kenya, Tanzania, and Uganda.
