Jumai Adamu elected Lady Captain of TYB International Golf Resort and Country Club
Jumai Adamu has emerged as the new Lady Captain of Tukur Yusuf Buratai (TYB) International Golf Resort and Country Club, Abuja, following a decisive election held at the club house on Saturday.
Adamu recorded a resounding victory, polling 129 votes to defeat Rose Nyam, who garnered 22 votes, and the incumbent lady captain, Maureen Apute, who received 26 votes.
The landslide result was met with loud applause from club members, many of whom described the outcome as a clear endorsement of Adamu’s leadership vision, integrity, and commitment to unity within the club.
Speaking shortly after the announcement, Adamu returned all glory to God, describing her victory as an act of divine grace and faith rewarded.
“I return all the glory to God Almighty. This victory is His doing, and I am deeply grateful to every member who believed in me,” she said.
Adamu pledged to lead with humility, inclusiveness, and dedication, promising to strengthen bonds among members and promote excellence within the ladies’ section of the club.
“I promise to strengthen camaraderie and promote excellence among female golfers at the club.
“With God’s guidance, I will serve diligently, promote unity, and ensure that every lady golfer feels valued and inspired,” she added.
She also paid tribute to the outgoing lady captain, Maureen Apute, thanking her for her service and noting that her administration laid important foundations to build upon.
Members of the club congratulated Adamu on her victory, expressing confidence that her tenure would usher in renewed energy, growth, and cohesion for the ladies’ section.
The election signals a new chapter for TYB International Golf Resort and Country Club, as members look ahead with optimism to progressive leadership and strengthened fellowship under Adamu’s stewardship.
