Nigeria to face Cameroon as WAFCON 2026 quarter final fixtures are confirmed
The quarter-final line-up for the 2026 CAF Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) has been finalized, with defending champions Nigeria set for a blockbuster showdown against long-time rivals Cameroon in one of the tournament's most anticipated last-eight clashes.
Cameroon sealed top spot in Group C on Thursday after battling tournament debutants Cape Verde to a 1-1 draw in Casablanca. The Indomitable Lionesses finished the group stage unbeaten, collecting seven points from two victories and a draw, while Cape Verde exited the competition after securing a historic first-ever WAFCON point.
Nigeria booked their place in the knockout stage after finishing second in Group D with two wins from three matches. The Super Falcons will now renew one of Africa's fiercest women's football rivalries against Cameroon, with both sides aiming to keep their title ambitions alive.
