Police debunk viral claims of house burning in Gombe State

 

 

The Gombe State Police Command has dismissed as false a viral social media report alleging that the residence of one Nafiu Bala was set ablaze in the state.

 

In a statement issued on April 30, 2026, the Command said no such incident had been recorded anywhere in Gombe, stressing that the claim is entirely unfounded and misleading.

 

The Commissioner of Police, Umar Ahmed Chuso, called on residents to disregard the misinformation and remain calm, assuring that security agencies are fully in control of the situation across the state.

 

“The report is false, as no such incident has been recorded anywhere in the State,” the statement noted.

 

Police spokesperson, Buhari Abdullahi, reiterated the Command’s commitment to maintaining peace and security, urging members of the public to rely only on verified sources of information.

 

The Command also warned against the spread of unverified claims capable of causing unnecessary panic, adding that it will continue to monitor and respond swiftly to any security concerns in Gombe State.
