FC Robo stretch lead, Bayelsa Queens reclaim summit as NWFL Premiership Matchday 13 reshape tables

Matchday 13 of the 2025/26 NWFL Premiership delivered a wave of defining results, as FC Robo Queens tightened their grip on Group B, Bayelsa Queens surged back to the top of Group A, and Abia Angels emerged as one of the biggest beneficiaries of the round.

At the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Robo Queens showed composure and control in a 2–0 victory over Dannaz Ladies. Opeyemi Ajakaye struck as early as the 7th minute to set the tone, before Esther Onyenezide doubled the advantage on the stroke of half-time. The result extends Robo’s lead at the top of Group B to four points, reinforcing their title credentials.

In Aba, Abia Angels produced a statement performance, defeating Nasarawa Amazons 2–0 to climb into second place. Winner David broke the deadlock in the 36th minute, while Chinaza Enuma added a second shortly after the restart, sealing a crucial win against one of their direct rivals.

Remo Stars Ladies delivered the standout performance of the matchday, dismantling Osun Babes 5–1 in Ikenne. Hannah Ibrahim’s first-half brace set the platform for a dominant display, with Chiamaka Ojialor, Blessed Isigbo, and Kehinde Deborah all getting on the scoresheet. Ebunoluwa Akinola’s consolation did little to soften the blow for the visitors.

In Iyahmo, Confluence Queens edged Delta Queens 2–1 in a tightly contested affair. After a cagey first half, Ijeoma Ibe broke the deadlock in the 55th minute, and Marvelous Ebube added a late second. Temitope Aweda pulled one back for Delta Queens, but the hosts held on for maximum points.

Bayelsa Queens left it late but returned to the summit of Group A with a hard-fought 1–0 win over Pacesetter Queens in Ibadan. Glory Edet’s 80th-minute strike proved decisive, underlining the Prosperity Girls’ resilience in the title race.

In Uyo, Ibom Angels secured a narrow 1–0 victory over Rivers Angels, with Mariam Okocha’s early strike in the 7th minute enough to separate both sides. The result significantly dents Rivers Angels’ standing in the group.

Edo Queens were denied a late win in Makwada, settling for a 1–1 draw against Adamawa Queens. Atume Doosuur appeared to have sealed victory with her 82nd-minute goal her 10th of the season, making her the first player to hit double figures but Katon Waken converted a stoppage-time penalty to ensure a share of the spoils.

In Owerri, Heartland Queens cruised to a 2–0 win over Naija Ratels. Faith Samson opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 24th minute, before Oluebube Umejiaku added a second nine minutes later to wrap up a comfortable outing.

Bayelsa Queens’ late victory sees them return to the top of Group A, with Edo Queens now second and Rivers Angels slipping to third. Ibom Angels climb into fourth, while Adamawa Queens drop to fifth. Pacesetter Queens and Naija Ratels remain rooted at the bottom.

In Group B, Robo Queens extend their advantage at the summit, while Abia Angels rise to second. Remo Stars Ladies re-enter the top three, as Nasarawa Amazons fall out of contention following their defeat.

Attention now turns to the final fixture of the round, where Sunshine Queens will host Ahudiyannem Queens on Thursday, 2 April 2026, in Akure a clash that could further shake up the standings.
