WAFU-B Champions League group challenge awaits Bayelsa Queens

NWFL champions, Bayelsa Queens, have discovered their opponents for the 2024 CAF Women’s Champions League WAFU-B qualifiers.

The Prosperity Girls have been drawn in Group B alongside Ghana’s Police Ladies, Togo’s ASKO, and Benin’s Sam Nelly. The qualifiers will take place in Côte d’Ivoire from August 23 to September 4.

Bayelsa Queens know this stage well as they were crowned WAFU-B champions in 2022 and went on to win bronze at the CAF Women’s Champions League that same year. This time, they’re out to reclaim their place among Africa’s elite, but the road won’t be easy.

Seven teams will compete in two groups, with three points for a win, one for a draw, and none for a loss. The top two from each group will reach the semi-finals, and the finalists will qualify for the CAF Women’s Champions League.
