WSL: Brighton & Hove Albion announce signing of Chiamaka Nnadozie

Brighton & Hove Albion Women have confirmed the signing of Nigerian international goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie, subject to the usual regulatory processes.

The 24-year-old will officially join the club on July 1, following the expiration of her contract with Paris FC.

Reacting to the announcement, head coach Dario Vidosic expressed his excitement:

“We’re thrilled to welcome Chiamaka to the club. She’s a talented and commanding goalkeeper who brings both consistency and confidence to our defensive unit. She has played at the highest level and brings valuable experience from major competitions, including the Champions League. We’re confident she’ll add depth, leadership, and hunger to an already ambitious squad as we prepare for the new season.”

Nnadozie arrives with an impressive resume. She joined Paris FC in January 2020 from Nigerian champions Rivers Angels and went on to make 118 appearances for the French side. One of her most memorable moments came in the 2025 Coupe de France Féminine final, where she saved two penalties in a dramatic shootout victory over Paris Saint-Germain.

Between 2022 and 2025, she featured 16 times in the UEFA Women’s Champions League. Her outstanding form earned her several accolades, including the UNFP Division 1 Féminine Goalkeeper of the Season and D1 Arkema Best Goalkeeper of the Season in 2024, becoming the first African player to win both awards.

Before her move to Europe, Nnadozie enjoyed a successful stint at Rivers Angels, where she helped the club win the Nigeria Women’s Premier League title in 2019 and three Nigeria Women’s Cup trophies. That same year, she was named IFFHS Africa’s Best Woman Goalkeeper.

On the international stage, Nnadozie has been a key figure for Nigeria. After representing the Super Falcons at U-17 and U-20 levels, she made her senior debut in 2018 against France and has since earned 55 caps.

Now, she brings her elite-level experience, shot-stopping prowess, and winning mentality to the Women’s Super League as she begins a new chapter with Brighton.
