Delta Queens comeback drama light up NWFL Premiership Matchday 12

Matchday 12 of the 2025/26 NWFL Premiership delivered drama, dominance, and defining moments, headlined by Delta Queens’ pulsating 3–2 comeback victory over FC Robo Queens in Asaba. Elsewhere, Bayelsa Queens produced a ruthless attacking display, while Ahudiyannem Queens quietly stretched their impressive unbeaten run.

At the Stephen Keshi Stadium, Delta Queens showed resilience in full measure, coming from behind twice to snatch all three points. Kemi Adegbuyi fired Robo Queens ahead in the 11th minute with her sixth goal of the season, but Princess Adams restored parity on 35 minutes. Robo responded almost instantly, with Esther Onyenezide reclaiming the lead just four minutes later.

The hosts, however, refused to fold. Norah Davis brought Delta level shortly after the restart, setting the stage for Anatasia Terfa’s decisive strike in the 71st minute. The win marked Delta Queens’ fourth of the campaign, while Robo slipped to their third defeat of the season.

In Yenagoa, Bayelsa Queens delivered the most emphatic performance of the round, dismantling Naija Ratels 5–0 in a one-sided affair. An own goal from Andy Faith opened the floodgates before Delight Isaac doubled the advantage deep into first-half stoppage time. Vera Samuel added a third early in the second half, and Kesiena Ojiyovwi’s late brace completed a commanding rout.

Rivers Angels continued to assert their authority at the summit of Group A, dispatching Pacesetter Queens 2–0 in Port Harcourt. Grace Saliu proved decisive, netting twice within the opening 15 minutes to effectively settle the contest before halftime.

Edo Queens kept the pressure on with a composed 2–0 victory over Ekiti Queens in Benin City. Rebecca Adegbemile broke the deadlock in the 26th minute, while Atume Doosuur doubled the lead just before the interval, taking her season tally to nine goals.

In Lafia, Ahudiyannem Queens maintained their steady rise under coach Adanna Nwaneri, holding Nasarawa Amazons to a goalless draw to extend their unbeaten streak since her appointment.

Ibom Angels staged a spirited comeback in Uyo, overturning an early deficit to defeat Adamawa Queens 3–1. Omon Afensimi had given the visitors the lead, but Mariam Okocha’s brace turned the tide before Eunice Ezeani sealed the win in the 75th minute.

Remo Stars Ladies were forced to settle for a 1–1 draw against Confluence Queens in Ikenne. Aishat Animashaun’s first-half strike was cancelled out by Marvelous John early in the second half, a result that would later prove costly in the standings.

Abia Angels claimed a vital 1–0 away victory over Osun Babes in Ile-Ogbo, with Blessing Okon’s 54th-minute effort making the difference in a tightly contested encounter.

The results leave Group A largely unchanged at the top, with Rivers Angels, Edo Queens, and Bayelsa Queens maintaining their positions as first, second, and third respectively, while Pacesetter Queens and Naija Ratels continue to struggle at the foot of the table.

Group B, however, saw a shift in momentum. Despite their defeat, Robo Queens remain leaders, but Nasarawa Amazons have closed the gap to just two points. Remo Stars Ladies slipped out of the top three following their draw, allowing Abia Angels to climb into third, just one point behind Remo.

Attention now turns to the final fixture of the round, as Dannaz Ladies host Sunshine Queens at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena on Thursday, March 26, 2026 a clash that could carry significant implications in both the relegation fight and the mid-table shuffle.
