Ex-Nigerian Immigration Chief Parradang Found Dead in Hotel Room after Receiving Female Guest – Police Confirms
The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has addressed circulating rumours of a kidnapping and death involving former Comptroller-General of the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), David Shikfu Parradang, clarifying that the 62-year-old passed away in a hotel room in Abuja after receiving a female visitor.
Parradang, who was found deceased on the morning of March 4, 2025, had checked into Joy House Hotel, Area 3 Junction, Abuja, on March 3, 2025. A close friend, a military officer, raised alarm after failing to reach him and traced Parradang's whereabouts, leading to the discovery of his body.
In a statement issued Tuesday, Police Public Relations Officer, Josephine Adeh, outlined the timeline and circumstances surrounding the former immigration chief’s death, urging the public to refrain from spreading unverified claims.
According to the police, Parradang arrived at the hotel around noon on March 3, driving a black Mercedes Benz. He paid for a one-night stay, amounting to twenty-two thousand naira (N22,000), and instructed hotel staff to escort a female guest to his room.
The lady left the hotel premises around 4:00 PM the same day. Afterward, Parradang did not emerge from his room, prompting his friend to take action.
Around 4:00 AM on March 4, concerned for Parradang’s well-being, the military officer, accompanied by hotel staff, visited the hotel and proceeded to his room, where they discovered him dead, seated in a chair.
The FCT police were alerted to the scene, and officers from Durumi Police Station promptly arrived to secure the area and gather evidence.
The body was transferred to the National Hospital for a post-mortem, and an ongoing investigation is being conducted. Authorities have emphasized that efforts are underway to locate and question the female guest who visited him.
"We strongly urge media outlets and the public to avoid speculating or spreading unfounded claims regarding this incident," Adeh stated. "Our priority is to ensure that all details surrounding Mr. Parradang's death are thoroughly examined. We remain committed to uncovering the truth and ensuring justice is served."
Police investigations continue, with the FCT Police Command working to piece together the circumstances surrounding the death of the former NIS head.
