Imo Striker consider legal action over alleged contract breach by Osun Babes
Imo Strikers Football Club have indicated their intention to pursue legal action against Osun Babes over what they describe as a clear breach of contractual agreement.
According to sources close to the matter, both clubs entered into a binding agreement which expressly stipulated that Osun Babes would complete full payment before the commencement of the November 2025 league season. The failure to meet this obligation, as allegedly outlined in the contract, is said to constitute a breach that has now escalated tensions between the two sides.
Imo Strikers’ decision to explore court action is reportedly driven by a desire to enforce the terms of the agreement and safeguard their contractual rights. The club maintains that agreements duly signed by professional entities must be respected and honoured.
While there are expectations that relevant football authorities may attempt to mediate the dispute, Imo Strikers believe the matter has gone beyond informal resolution and now requires proper legal redress.
Osun Babes acquired Imo Striker Queens NWFL Premiership slots for certain amount which was paid in part as the balance of the payment is yet to be honoured.
As the situation continues to unfold, stakeholders within the Nigerian women’s football ecosystem are watching closely. What remains clear, however, is that contractual obligations between clubs are not subject to speculation — and any alleged breach must ultimately be resolved through lawful and transparent processes.
