Iwobi on Target as Fulham Come from Behind to Beat Farense

Nigeria midfielder Alex Iwobi scored as Fulham fought back to claim a 2-1 victory over Portuguese side Farense in their final preseason fixture of the club's training camp in Portugal.

The Nigerian international produced another assured display in midfield, helping Marco Silva's side round off their preparations with a morale-boosting win ahead of the 2026/27 Premier League season.

Fulham fell behind in the first half but responded strongly after the interval in pursuit of an equaliser.

Iwobi restored parity after Emile Smith Rowe was brought down inside the penalty area. The 30-year-old calmly converted the resulting spot-kick, sending the goalkeeper the wrong way to level the contest.

The equaliser sparked Fulham into life as they dominated the closing stages in search of a winner.

Their pressure eventually paid off in the 89th minute when Rodrigo Muniz converted a second penalty after Josh King was fouled in the box, completing the comeback and securing victory for the Cottagers.

Iwobi's goal capped another encouraging preseason outing as he looks to carry his fine form into the new campaign.

The Nigerian midfielder was one of Fulham's standout performers last season, registering four goals and three assists in 29 Premier League appearances as Marco Silva's side narrowly missed out on European qualification.

With the new season fast approaching, Iwobi will be hoping to build on his strong preseason displays and remain a key figure in Fulham's push for a successful Premier League campaign.
