Katsina United relocate to Ilorin after stadium ban, to host Enyimba behind closed doors

NPFL side Katsina United have confirmed the Rasheed Yekini Main Bowl in Ilorin as their new temporary home ground for the remainder of the 2025/26 season.

The Changi Boys, who traditionally play at the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium in Katsina, were forced to seek an alternative venue following crowd misconduct during their Matchday 12 clash against Barau FC. The incident led to a ban on the stadium and the club’s initial relocation to Jos, Plateau State.

However, in a letter dated November 19, 2025, signed by the NPFL’s Chief Operating Officer, the league approved Katsina United’s request to move their home matches to Ilorin starting from Matchday 14.

“After careful evaluation of the logistics involved in hosting your home fixtures at the Jos City Stadium, with respect to the available facilities therein, it has been decided as follows: that Katsina United FC play their home fixtures at the Rasheed Yekini Main Bowl, Ilorin Township Stadium; that adequate provision of match-day logistics should be made available to the concerned football association; and that strict and supervised security protocols must be put in place and observed for all matches.”

Following the decision, Katsina United will host Enyimba behind closed doors on Monday in their next NPFL fixture.

The club currently sits on 17 points from 13 matches and will be aiming to build momentum as they push towards the end of the first round.
