The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has offered its heart felt condolences to its Director of Competitions, Ms. Ruth David, following the passing of her younger sister, Queen David.

Announcing the sad news on Tuesday morning, NFF Acting General Secretary, Dr. Emmanuel Ikpeme, expressed the football body's deep sorrow over the loss.

Dr. Ikpeme highlighted the particularly painful timing of the news, noting that Ms. David had just arrived back in Nigeria on Monday night from Poland, where she was accompanying the U-20 Women’s National Team (Falconets) during their FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup campaign.

"It is a sorrowful situation," Ikpeme stated. "The NFF stands in solidarity with Ms. David during this difficult time. We pray for God to grant her and her family the strength to bear this immense loss, and for the soul of the departed to rest in peace."
