Enekwechi reigns supreme in India
Nigeria’s Chukwuebuka Enekwechi continued his impressive run on the international stage after clinching gold in the men’s shot put at the World Athletics Continental Tour Silver Meet in India.
The Commonwealth Games gold medallist delivered a winning throw of 20.78 metres to finish top of the field and secure another major international victory.
Italy’s Zane Weir claimed the silver medal with a throw of 20.48 metres, finishing 30 centimetres behind the Nigerian.
Enekwechi’s latest triumph further underlines his status as one of Africa’s leading shot put athletes, adding another international title to his growing list of achievements.
The Nigerian thrower will be hoping to maintain his consistency as he continues his campaign on the global athletics circuit.
