Ranchers Bees hand Usman Abdallah the reins for NPFL return
Newly promoted Nigeria Premier Football League side Ranchers Bees have moved to strengthen their technical bench with the appointment of seasoned coach Usman Abdallah as their new head coach.
The Kaduna-based club confirmed the appointment on Wednesday as they continue preparations for life back in the Nigerian top flight following an 18-year absence from the NPFL.
Abdallah, 51, joins Ranchers Bees on a reported two-year contract after the expiration of his deal with Remo Stars at the end of the 2025/26 season.
His arrival signals the club’s ambition to make a strong impression on their return to elite football and avoid being mere participants in the upcoming campaign.
One of the most respected tacticians in the domestic game, Abdallah boasts an impressive coaching résumé built over several years across Nigerian football. He previously served as assistant coach and youth team handler at Kano Pillars before earning wider recognition at Enyimba.
At the Aba giants, he rose from assistant coach to head coach and enjoyed one of the most successful spells of his career. Under his guidance, Enyimba reached the semi-finals of the CAF Confederation Cup and clinched the 2018/19 NPFL title, finishing ahead of his hometown club, Kano Pillars.
The experienced manager has also had coaching stints with Wikki Tourists and Katsina United, further cementing his reputation as one of the league’s most knowledgeable figures.
Most recently, Abdallah worked as Technical Adviser at Remo Stars during the 2025/26 season. Although the club endured a difficult campaign that ended in relegation, his vast experience remains highly regarded within Nigerian football circles.
Ranchers Bees will now look to tap into that experience as they prepare for the challenges of top-flight football. The club will be hoping Abdallah can provide the leadership, tactical discipline and winning mentality needed to secure their NPFL status and lay the foundation for long-term success.
